Hi
I'm Molly Duncan
Contemporary Abstract Artist
from Cygnet, Tasmania
I am proud to say that I am an accidental artist, self-taught six years ago (2019), borne of determination to recover from major surgery and chronic pain. Cooking is my passion but since rediscovering my creativity in painting, it has taken a backstep. I want to share with you the joys of painting in oil and cold wax medium. “Making abstract art is an exciting and challenging journey where imperfections are embraced. The more I cut loose the more freedom of expression I discover in my work. Mark-making, bold strokes and colours and an ethereal touch are the signature of my work”.
My paintings have found homes overseas and interstate as I continue to make original artwork a thing of beauty in everyone's home.

Not a paintbrush in sight!
Oil & cold wax medium is unique in the sense that unlike acrylics it takes a little while to dry so it gives the painter more time to manipulate the paint. You can scratch and gouge designs, scrape away paint or add more layers of paint with a scraper or palette knife.
